Kuluk – It’s just a Shake Away
The Gesture based App – call and message with a Shake
Sightica’s revolutionary product ‘Kuluk’ – the Gesture based App – enables users, primarily the visually challenged and elderly, to make calls, send messages and communicate with others in the easiest and simplest way possible — using Gestures!
Features
Shake to Call
Add a number from your phone contact list and set a Gesture against the number. Each corresponding number of shakes prompts for a confirmation and makes a call! To cancel the call, you need to just shake the phone once.
Tap to Call
You can also tap on the phone screen to make a call. The taps can be customised for each number from the phone list (up to 4 numbers). Each corresponding number of taps prompts for a confirmation and makes a call! To cancel the call, simply place the phone in a face-down position.
Shake to Message
A superior feature of Kuluk allows users to compose or load pre-set template messages. You can link a shake against a number from your phone book — each corresponding number of shakes allows the user to send out a message, and an image too (via MMS).
Tip! Face-down to Cancel
Another simple but useful feature is the ability to cancel a call by simply positioning your Android device face-down (pointing the device face-down to a flat surface).
Supported devices & accessibility
- OS supported: all Android OS — Froyo (2.2), Gingerbread (2.3), Honeycomb (3.1, 3.2), Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0), Jelly Bean (4.1, 4.2) and KitKat (4.4).
- For visually challenged users: support offered with ‘Talkback’ and ‘Eyes Free’ across the same Android versions.
Built with the community, for the community
The app has been put together after more than a decade of working with the visually challenged community and understanding the needs of this target group. More on our work at visuallychallenged.com and rcg-src.in.
Do post your comments and feedback, and help improve the versions in the future. Thank you and enjoy the Shake!
